Which professions is FileSeal built for?

The workflow is the same in each case: you need a document from someone who is not a colleague and should not be emailing it.
Can I take back a link I sent to the wrong person?
Yes. You can withdraw a send or an upload link from your dashboard until it is used, and it stops working straight away. Once the recipient has downloaded the files, or your client has uploaded, it can no longer be withdrawn, and a recipient keeps the copy they downloaded. Ordinary email to a client cannot be taken back once it is delivered.
What does FileSeal replace?
Email attachments, WhatsApp, and WeTransfer or Dropbox links for passports, bank statements, proof of address, tax returns and similar client documents. It is not a document management system or a client portal with folders and permissions, and it is not long-term storage: files exist only until they are downloaded once or expire.
Do my clients need an account to upload documents?
No. Clients upload from any device without creating an account or installing anything. They open the link, choose their files and upload. Nothing is installed and no password is set.
Where are the documents stored?
The application, database and encrypted files are hosted in the UK: Vercel in London, Neon PostgreSQL in London, and Vercel Blob’s UK store. Supporting services such as email delivery and error monitoring run in the UK or the EEA, listed in the Data Processing Agreement at fileseal.uk/terms/dpa.
Is FileSeal suitable for a regulated firm?
Designed for firms regulated by the SRA and FCA. FileSeal holds no regulator endorsement. A Data Processing Agreement is published at fileseal.uk/terms/dpa and incorporated into the terms, and any signed-in account can download a GDPR Compliance Statement describing the technical and organisational measures. That statement is a statement, not a certification under Article 42 UK GDPR.
