Deliver files to a clientGoing the other way, send a file to a client as a one-time, encrypted link. They open it once and the document is gone from our servers. Anyone can do this from the public send page without an account at all. From your dashboard you can also send a short encrypted note instead of a file, for things like a reference number or a few sensitive details, with the same one-time, self-deleting link.

Why it stays safe
Files are encrypted with AES-GCM-256 in the browser before they upload. In the default Email them option FileSeal holds the key, so it can build your download ZIP on our servers and a lost link cannot destroy your client's only copy. Choose Get a link (Most private) and the key lives only in the link, so FileSeal cannot read the files at all. Links are one-time, everything auto-deletes, and all of it is hosted in the UK.

How does FileSeal work, step by step?
You create a request in the dashboard and name the documents you need. FileSeal gives you a link. You share that link with your client by email or any other channel. Your client opens it, selects their files and uploads them, with the files encrypted on their device first. You are notified, you download once, and the files are then deleted from FileSeal’s servers.
Do my clients need an account to upload documents?
No. Clients upload from any device without creating an account or installing anything. They open the link, choose their files and upload. Nothing is installed and no password is set.
How long does a FileSeal link stay open?
You choose the upload window when you create the request: 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours or a week. Once your client has uploaded, a separate download window decides how long you have before uncollected files are deleted: 72 hours, a week, a fortnight or a month. Sends work the same way, with one expiry from 24 hours to 7 days.
Can FileSeal read my clients’ documents?
It depends on the delivery mode, and FileSeal states both plainly. “Email them” is the default and lets FileSeal keep the key so it can email a working link. “Get a link”, labelled Most private, keeps the key only in the link, so FileSeal stores ciphertext it cannot read. Files are encrypted with AES-GCM-256 on the device before upload in either mode.
What happens to the files after I download them?
Each link works once. Files are deleted from FileSeal’s servers after that download, and uncollected files are deleted when the link expires. Notes are wiped the moment they are opened, and the recipient keeps the copy they downloaded.
